The main objective of the Guidelines for Product Information File (PIF) is to provide a guideline to Responsible Parties of the cosmetic products placed on the local market about: - how to prepare and organize the PIF, - mandatory data and documents to be included in the specific sections of the PIF, - who is responsible to keep the PIF available for inspection, and - where and how the PIF content should be made available; This standard provide a high level of protection of consumer safety and public health related to the use of cosmetic product. In that aspect, the PIF and its content can be seen as a means to demonstrate and/or verify product compliance and safety.
