This International Standard applies to range hoods incorporating a fan for the recirculation or forced removal of air from above a hob situated in a household kitchen. It can also be used for range hoods with external blowers, if these blowers are controlled by the range hood and the blower is defined in the technical documentation (e.g. name plate data) and instructions for installation. This standard defines the main performance characteristics of range hoods and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics, for the information of users. This standard does not specify required values for performance characteristics. NOTE This standard does not deal with: 1– safety requirements (IEC 60335-2-31); 2– acoustical noise (IEC 60704-2-13)
