This part of ISO 5247 defines the basic terms of parts of weaving machines. These terms are subdivided into the following eight categories: 1 Designation of sides and mesurements 2 Weaving machine frame 3 Drive 4 Warp and fabric control equipment 5 Shedding means 6 Weft insertion elements 7 Devices at selvedges 8 Stop motions in weaving NOTES 1 In addition to terms used in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French), this part of ISO 5247 gives the equivalent terms in the German and Chinese languages; these have been included at the request of ISO/TC 72 and are published under the responsibility of the member bodies for Germany (DIN) and China (CSBTS). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions. 2 The equivalent Chinese terms are presented beginning on page 27.
