This International Standard defines the use of the heat flow meter method (see 2.2.2) to measure the steady-state heat transfer through flat slab specimens and the calculation of the heat transfer properties of specimens. This is a secondary or relative method since the ratio of the thermal resistance of the specimen (S) to that of a standard specimen (S) is measured .
