GSO IEC 60598-1:2002 Scope
This part 1 of International Standard IEC 60598 specifies general requirements for the
classification and marking of luminaires and for their mechanical and electrical construction,
together with related tests. The standard is applicable to luminaires for use with electric light
sources on supply voltages not exceeding 1 000 V. Additional sections will be added when a
need for them is recognized.
